Cats or pets thread

This is "Two-Two" and she steals my girlfriends cigs and my diet pop. She is suppose to guard the house against small invaders but she has become lazy in her old age (14 years old).

lol, Kidding aside, We inherited her from my girlfriends mother when she passed away. She is a good cat and once I settled the question of who really runs the house we had no more issues. She is a "Maine Coon" breed.

Maine Coons make the best cat pets IMO. We also have one, Tommy, and he's the smartest cat I've ever seen. You can call his name and he'll come running. He always knows the time of day and if I forget it's feeding time, hair combing time, nap time or treat time, he'll remind me. He follows a strict daily schedule. He gets a hair cut twice a year so he stays cool in the summer.

They do seem to be quite smart (The Maine Coon's). When I come back from an appointment two-two is always waiting for me and greets me in the drive way for a pet and then I go inside. When we sit on the couch to watch our favorite tv show she will sit facing the couch on the floor and stare at me until I say "Ok, Come on up". Then she will hop up and demand a petting session.

What is wierd is that I really do not take care of her my girlfriend does. But she wants to be with me every minute of the day almost. She will not leave me a lone. She likes to play a little and will "Fake bite" me and Ill respond "OH, OH, you got me!" and she will look up at me somewhat satisfied that she won. lol...

This is the only cat that I have to say I enjoy. I am normally a dog person. We just inherited her from when my girlfriends mother died.

These are my two sleeping as usual- the grey is Mr.Magoo [blind and no tail] and the Black is Bomba [deaf] Love em to bits, they are very affectionate and get multiple headbutts when trying to do something.

How is he with strangers? Is he courious or does he hide until they are gone?

Our Maine Coon understands that humans are on the earth for two things:

1. Feeding them.
2. Petting them.

So, She is quite friendly. It was a different story when we first got her. She came from my girlfriend's mothers home after she died. Brought her home and sat her down in the den and she just sat there kinda scared. So, I picked her up and put her outside and said "Go play!".

I think she thinks she is in Heaven. We live near a rather large river, a state park, and there are all kinds of creatures for her to play with. So, She regularly gets mice, chipmunks, birds, moles ect.... She has the time of her life. In the summer she wants in to eat and then back out again like a little kid. Then at night she will get up on the couch with us while we are watching tv and demand petting.

Pretty cool cat as far as cats go. As for strangers she figures out that they will pet her she will bug them alot. :)

Our new dog. We got her from a work colleague of my wife. She has and autistic child, pregnant and had to move house and no pets allowed.
She is King Charles Cavalier - named molly, here she is in my office on the bear rug in front of the fire :)

Pets I cant stand - Birds, Nothing worse than working in a residential place with birds. Why do ppl keep birds they cant do much but annoy everyone via chirping in a cage. It's like they are saying "Oh another new person, please help me escape" Though it translates to

"CHIRP COIP CHIRP CHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRP" + x10

We have a lovable 14 year old mutt. She has a common joint disease that is affecting her rear legs so it's hard for her to get around. Man, this dog used to love to run.

We are doing our best to keep her comfortable and help her up the stairs and we dread the day that's coming.

I was working on a laptop in this ladies kitchen and I here phuck you, phuck you. Then I hear azzhole, azzhole. I'm laughing and figured the lady had teenage kids hiding somewhere.

It turns out to be a bird. She was so embarrassed and said her teenage boys taught it to curse. She actually thought I was offended!

Sad news at Built by Mom HQ. One of our beloved bunnies has passed away :( He will be missed very much.

Awww I'm sorry to hear that. Loosing a pet is always difficult for pet lovers. They become family, maybe even better than family. Stay strong, he was a beautiful bunny.

Awww thanks. He really was family. In our twenty years of having rabbits, none of them have ever seen the inside of a cage; they've all been house rabbits. (So no Ethan Allen furniture for us, but what a joy it is to come upstairs in the morning to see leaping bunnies greeting you!).
