Can Microsoft Works OEM be Upgrade to MS Office 2007 (Retail Version)

Can the OEM version of MS Works or Works Suite that is preinstalled on a Dell (at a very reasonable cost) be *upgraded* with the retail versions of a Microsoft Office 2007 Upgrade?

Not that I know of. Works and Office are two completely different products. If you want to upgrade to Office 2007, you'll have to use Office as your base, not works.

Works can be upgraded to certain versions of office. The question is about OEM, though.... I don't know the answer. I'd say that it probably can, but the upgrade path doesn't distinguish between oem or retail.

I think (based subsequent readings on the Internet) that if you upgrade an OEM version of MS Works, that technically that upgrade becomes OEM. That is even if the upgrade itself was a retail version.
I have *not* asked Microsoft though.
