sorry to bring this up again but the threads the search brought up are from may 2010 so looking for updates onn who is using them.

I have just had a demo of autotask and in contact with connectwise but looking for opinions from those that use them. I use GFI as my monitoring software and as such would need to tie up with it well.

At the moment I have a few businesses that I monitor using GFI and a few that while are not on contract I do a lot of work for and as such need to list of what I do for them each month.

I know auto task go is no longer available but was wondering what the start up costs are for connectwise.

I've been using CW since March this year and to be honest, I couldn't go back to not using it. The difference made simply by having the single track of ticketing -> time entry -> invoice creation -> 2-click invoice e-mailing -> dump to quickbooks is immence, especially when using the CW mobile app to enter time on-site.

Add into that things like e-mail to ticket, customer portal, agreements (I went from a monthly invoice run for agreements of around 2 hours to five minutes because it's all in the software), project planning, the CW university and forums and you have an amazing package. It's not perfect by any means, but it's easily good enough for me.

I can't comment on AT, because I didn't really look at it - call me fussy, but I didn't like their website.

Cost-wise, for two users (including the mobile add-on) and the Exchange integration, it is $138/month, billed every two months, which for me works out in £ at needing to bill two extra hours a month to cover the cost which I have definitely been doing since I started with it.

Hope that helps,

RobC.

We are using Connectwise and our clients have made comments on how professional the billings look... it does make a difference.

You can host the program on your own servers or on theirs, but to purchase the program and host it on your own server is very expensive.

We did a long study into the various different programs and decided on Connectwise and haven't looked back.

One previous comment was that it isn't perfect, true, but they do have a staff that will try to fix things. It's another program that is forever evolving, for the better.

I would suggest that you give them a call and get information of any startup costs directly from them.:)

How did the phone call go 4ycr? I had forgotten to add that there was a startup cost which I believe should have been around $1000 but I managed to get them down to $100 with virtually no effort.

I've been using Autotask Pro for 3 years now and love it. Last year they added mobile access for Apple/Android/Windows devices which helps get billable time in the system faster. I can't bear the thought of knowing how much money I lost on odds and ends and billable time by not having one system to track it all. The AT community is a great resource as well for reaching out to other IT service companies. AT also provides extra value by helping you grow your MSP business through webinars. I pay $159/mo for two users with mobile access. The ability to provide client access to create and track tickets is a nice feature as well. We primarily use AT to track our monthly contracts and creating invoices for those contracts, break/fix tickets, and CRM. I have not integrated it with Zenith as of yet but plan to do so soon.

Can't comment on Connectwise because I know nothing about them. Feel free to PM me to ask specific questions. I'll be glad to answer.

Do you use Auto Task with another Accounting Software?? Thanks.

A PSA tool is on my to-do list for this year as well so I'm curious to hear about anyone's experiences with AT/CW or others too...

I've casually looked at AT & CW over the last year or so, but I didn't realize that AT Go was no longer offered - is there a replacement offering or did they simply adjust the minimum user req's on their Pro product?

I haver a 1 user license on autotask, apparently the only difference was the setup fee, which is used to give training on the system. So far I have had 3 hour long calls showing me the different parts of the system and how to set it up.

I will see how it goes as I only signed up for 6 months

I have looked at both of them and they aren't bad but are kind of complicated and too expensive for most techs. I wrote my own web app to do this work and am looking for beta testers if anyone is interested.

My idea is to build a tool for computer techs by computer techs.

Just click the link in my sig.

While I don't want to disclose what I am paying I did get a good discount on it. The GFI integration was very easy, it allows you to match up existing clients with those being monitored as well as add new ones. You also get the option to pre populate certain fields lick IP address, computer name etc...

While it is a lot more expensive than the programs some of the members here have written I am wanting to get more in to managed services so using just now will let me learn the system and I am using it to track all my repairs as fewer and fewer are done in my workshop now.

I have the mobile app which allows me to update my tickets on the road without using a browser and it also allows my customers to type in a password to say I have finished the job.

ConnectWise called me pretty quick so it may have been since you were across the pond that it took so long.

ConnectWise is more expensive if you only have 1 user since you have to pay for a minimum of 2 users.

AutoTask also offered me a discount. I'm still up in the air about whether to go with with Autotask or pay outright (avoiding monthly fees) and use commitcrm. Of course paying the monthly fee for autotask means everything should be up to date, so im still on the fence.

What decision did you make in the end with regards to this?
