Assigning a Gmail account to a new Owner.

I'm doing some work for some Liquidators. (I can't remember if this was the term used in America, but there are people that buy failing businesses and do whatever with the assets).

As part of this, I need to transfer ownership of a personal Gmail account that was used for business purposes. I know I could probably just turn off two factor authentication and other security info and reset the password, but is there a more legitimate way to do it? How can I keep that account secure when 2FA is potentially not an option.

In case anyone's worried, I know the liquidators are genuine and not scammy because I first did work for them when they were liquidating a company I did IT for.

Hmmm… I hope the fact that a company was liquidated while I was doing their IT doesn't reflect badly on the quality of my IT skills :D
 
I don't know of any other way to transfer a (free, I presume) personal Gmail account. You can't delete and re-create it, so the only thing you can do is set things up so that the current owner no longer has access and the new owner does.

I also have 2 of my personal Google accounts set up with 2FA, and two others not. But with a sufficiently long password, the original owner is not just going to guess it to get in. I always use The Portmanteau Method of Creating Passwords and you can always generate something "insanely long" but insanely memorable for the person who's got to use it.

No one's guessing or brute forcing something like 1952GmailMeagan! or 1952MasterCardMeagan!
