How long before someone's wireless Apple ear buds fall out and they step on it, a car runs over it or other form of destruction?
Apple's Phil Schiller described Apple's move to a new wireless chip as "fixing the challenges" of wireless audio in a keynote address this morning, and that Apple has the "courage" to ditch the headphone jack.
Apple's new W1 chip uses regular Bluetooth for connectivity
The ultra-low power Apple W1 chip operates at one-third of the power of traditional wireless chips, enabling AirPods to deliver up to 5 hours of listening time on one charge. The custom-designed charging case holds additional charges, for an industry-leading more than 24 hours of total listening time,* ensuring AirPods are charged and ready to go whenever you are.

Er Motorola already tried making a phone without a headphone jack and had to go back to putting one on their latter phones due to public outcry. Of course Apple fans are far more forgiving so they might get away with it. Either way I wouldn't say it has anything to do with courage, more to try and force people into buying Apple or Beats headphones.

Yeah, my wife says my elbows would actually fit, if they'd reach...They would on me. I never can use any ear buds. They always fall out in minutes.
Did you see where they have built in gps, and they ring if you press the "Lost button"
