Has anyone had this error ?

the story is that the customer installed the windows 10 upgrade and something went wrong so he rolled it back and now whenever he tries to load windows mail he gets this error

api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-2-0.dll is missing from your computer

up to now I have discovered that Windows 7 uses
api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-1-0.dll

which means some aspect of 10 is probably lurking somewhere, I have tried reregistering all Dlls using D7 I even tried a repair install of windows but its still not working, had this one sat on the bench since Monday now and really keen to get it resolved :(

I also had this error as well. api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-2-1.dll is missing....
I fixed it by doing a chkdsk /r, then updating .NET, running Windows Update, removing the Visual C++ Redistributables and reinstall them.
Hope this helps.
.

Both of those 'dll's are in .NET and the Visual C++ library, so I'm not sure which update actually fixed it. I just did them all anyway.

ended up going for format and reinstall, none of them fixed it, and it seems that loads of others were missing as well, seems like the windows 10 update properly screwed things up in this case.
