Hi guys,

I was doing some google/youtube searching for how-to's and this one keeps coming up so I added to favorites: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoX1-FnYbyiWeLhnJsRzxTg

The accent is nice too :D

Anyways, it makes me want to do my own short videos for our Knowledge-Base. It wouldn't get a huge amount of traffic or anything, but I think it would be very useful to clients and make me look more professional than just text and image based.

What's the right software to use? How about for recording screenshots/videos on the mobile devices?

I had been planning on doing some of those, for clients, and aimed at other techs.
Camtasia seems to be most popular for making them..allows desktop sharing, picture in picture window for the webcam of you, easy highlighting with the red, etc.

Maybe @Bryce W should just make branded knowledge base as a service with videos! Thanks for the software names Stonecat, I will scope it out.

P.S. how the heck are ya??

Today...I'm home, flat on my back on the couch. We moved last weekend, we're now down in Mago Point...that neighborhood under the Niantic River Bridge. What a project packing up our old house...3,600 sq ft, it accumulated a LOT of stuff Still have to go back there over the next few weeks to dispose of stuff. Getting it prepped to put on the market by March and get it sold! This house we just moved into a few days ago, we're just renting it...short term, until we find a nicer ranch house hopefully along Niantic River Road to rent for a few year. And within a year we hope to purchase our small "starter place" in west coast Florida. Which is why we want to just rent up here in CT since we'll only be up here for another couple of years or so...probably not more than 5 years.

Awesome! Sounds like a good plan for you and family. I hope your back is alright. Are you all done with motorbiking now? Would you take my VRod for a rip in the spring if I visit?? :D

Sold my last Harley around mid summer. With lower back getting worse, I often had what I call "dead leg"...when it acted up I just didn't feel like I had solid feet on the ground when stopping the bike, esp on occasional inclines 'n stuff like that. Worried me when the wife was on the back..I feared my leg giving out and dropping the bike at some intersection. Not good. So...yeah, all sold. Besides all my spare change is now focused on keeping that dang boat going! :D

Yeah I'd love to take the Porsche/Harley for a rip ! :D

Your pops still keeps his boat across the river from me? Was he at Boats Inc? Or Three Belles? I'm basically located right behind Niantic River Boat Valet...can see their building out my front window right now.

The Porsche motor is amazing, I can tell you that much. Pops is at Three Belles, I think you guys redid their WiFi last year? Pops has a 2000 Formula 31PC there. It's the real but up dirty looking one- can't miss it! He's been fixing it up a lot the past few years, trading gas money for repairs. Yep... it's a boat!

That's a really nice area.

Yeah they let us do a starter install with Ubiq MESH units on the docks..they need a lot more...hopefully they'll let us add a few more.
Ahh yes a Formula...gorgeous boats...we keep dreaming about a 37PC. Some dock neighbors/friends of ours have a 40 PC...not sure of the year, the darker blue hull years..probably ~5 years old. Has the pod drives with high perf Volvo diesels...fast boat.

Yeah, Dad's got the twin Merc 496 with the Bravo III double prop outdrives. Only problem is it wants to do 10mph at idle which makes docking hard!

The best free video editing tools are in Linux (Kden, Openshot, etc.....) Not sure about Windows video editing. Haven't tried it since Movie Maker 2.6 - heh!

I've done some.

I use camtasia and love it for being able to quickly do split screen webcam animations highlight things etc
