For the past few days I have noticed my browser sometimes failing to find a website the first time and I suspected a virus. I ran all the possible check and its all good.

Now for the first time today I accidentally mistyped a domain name in the address bar of IE and when the site could not be found that damn new MS search site "Bing!" popped up and said so.

I cannot find where Bing is in IE 8 and now I am hearing from people that it's happening in IE 7 and some Firefox installs.

I didnt download anything nor visit any site and make changes so its likely some IE patch from overnight or something.

Anyone else seeing this?. Type in a bad domain without the "www" like this 2934mdj4kf.com and let is work, if it fails and you see Bing come up you are "infected" too.

Gotta find out where this is because its probably what is causing occaisional failures on dns lookups.

MS replaced MSN Live or what ever with Bing. Thats the short for more information I suggest www.lmgtfy.com :D

Just a note I heard about this weeks ago and saw like an advertisement and honestly I thought it was a joke but now that I see MS was behind it the add seems less a joke and more of thier ego.

Yea Bing.com is MS's new baby....I don't even know why they waste time, should put the money into something more productive. We all know they are not going to beat out Google.

As far as Bing! showing up when you incorrectly type a URL, that has been happening to me for about a week on IE8. I have not had the issue in FF or IE7.

the incorrect URL redirect is if you have/allow MSN Live to do the defualt search as it has been replaced with Bing. In the add I saw the line that made me laugh but fits with MS ego was something along the lines of "Its not a search engine its a decision engine"

Whatever you have as the default search provider is what page will pop up. Mine is google so if I mistype a domain, I get a google page.
