As a valued member of our program, we are informing you in advanced of some hot news.
Today, Malwarebytes will officially announce that ADWCleaner has joined our family. In
case you are wondering, ADWCleaner will continue to grow as a standalone freeware utility
with the minor addition of Malwarebytes branding.

For full details on this announcement, please see the attached press release. Also, stay
tuned to our blogs and forums for even more details on this.

For the near term, AdwCleaner will retain its current name, supplemented by Malwarebytes branding. Malwarebytes is committed to maintaining the mission of the AdwCleaner product and its features. Malwarebytes believes this will aid growing awareness for the Malwarebytes brand in areas of rapid growth within Europe, Asia and additional countries outside of the United States. Malwarebytes will also integrate many of the proprietary techniques and detections into their flagship products.

It's called "eliminating the competition" by buying their code, methodologies, intellectual property and everything else they can get.
When no other competitor exists, you will have to purchase their product or risk infection!
Of course, offer it free for a while so that everyone gets used to using it so when they do have to pay, it seems less of a "sting!"
Just my 2 cents...

You may not use on behalf of, or make the functionality of the Software available to, third parties for any purpose, such as for providing any computer repair, help desk or troubleshooting service.

Well, it was nice while it lasted.

EDIT: Nevermind, the put that in by mistake and are going to remove it.

According to Alex Smith @ Malwarebytes the no commercial use clause was an oversight and will be removed.
