I found this video by Mark Russinovich (after he joined Microsoft).
Looks like and excellent instruction in using sysinternals and autoruns to identify and remove virii, especially focused at the rogue programs that we have seen more of lately.

Advanced Malware Removal

I would love to have comments on his techniques from the senior and experienced members as well as the less experienced (like me).

Haven't viewed it yet but I can say for a long time AutoRuns has been a favorite app that is GREAT for me! I'll watch the video though in a bit. Thanks!

I didn't watch it past 20 minutes (realized it's over an hour long!) but I found it quite informational. I always love conferences like that so I will add this to my videos folder for future reference. Although it looks like he's just showing us some standard run of the mill features from what my small window of viewing shown.

Watched almost all of it but although informative most I picked up using it over time anyways and his pronunciation of some things kinda drives me nuts...haha. Thanks, I did get a few tidbits of useful specifics that will be helpful with some of the options within the programs themselves.

Wow... great video! I have know about the ways to identify rootkits but getting in to the local kernel debugger was sooooo interesting!

Don't get me wrong though, although you may not me able to run his app. It is pretty nice and as long as it can run it can help a lot.

I also read this "The Case of the unexplained" they are very informational. And he goes into deatail about the issues.

I bet he is freaking rich now that he works for MS. All this video are fantastic.

You can even buy a set of videos that he goes further into deail on all areas of windows.
