Adobe Reader and Screen resolution problems

Here's the problem my customer is having. When you click to open Adobe Reader 9 the screens resolution changes as well as color settings are changed to windows Vista Basic. I have attached a of the background when adobe is opened. I will post one of adobe itself as well soon. Anyone have any suggestions as to what may be wrong?

Looks like the compatibility settings were changed to run in 256 colors and 640x480

Looks like the settings are wrong I would change the settings also you can delete the acrobat.com on the desktop and I see he has norton on as well of you get rid of norton his computer will speed up ask him is computer running slow if so that will be norton doing that Tell him there is an alternative like Avg, Avira, Superantispyware and Malwarebytes.

Try a different font resolution in Reader's preferences, also check it's not running in compatibility mode.

Foxit PDF is quicker and better. If not then the above suggestions sound good

Seconded. Look at the icons properties. Looks like the icon is telling the program to run in 256 colors at 640x380
