I'm trying to figure out what is using 35GB of disk space on the D: drive of an SBS 2008 server.

WinDirStat (see screenshot below) shows 35GB of used space as <unknown>.

I initially thought it could be shadow copies on the D: drive using up the space, however vssadmin list shadows /for=D: shows just one shadow copy and vss admin list shadowstorage /for=D: shows the following:

Used Shadow Copy Storage space: 1.733 GB
Allocated Shadow Copy Storage space: 2.148 GB
Maximum Shadow Copy Storage space: 9.862 GB

The usual culprit is System Volume Information folder but Shadow Copies is disabled on all drives and the system volume information folder is only 2.34GB in size.

I also thought it might be a collection of files with the SYSTEM account as the only account with access; however I used PSEXEC to run command, windirstat and treesize and it doesn't show up anything extra that might be using the 35GB.

Any ideas?

Thanks
