Do you write protect your Zalman and how?

Coincidentally my Zalman VE-300 arrived today so yet to use it. My previous VE-200 failed when the write protect switch broke in the locked position!

Cheap laser printers - are there pitfalls?

Basically because there is not much in them. I have(and have installed) an HP Laserjet Pro P1102W. I bought it I think 3 years ago. They cost £65 or so and you can get about 2000 - 3000 sheets out of a cartridge you can buy for about £9 on Ebay. It's a printer only but it's Airprint...

    Desktop PC - No Power

It needs to be a bit more clearer when you say no power as previously said. List what is and isn't working and we can move on.

Ken Dwight's paid course for beginners?

It all depends on if you have money to spare. There are plenty of other "tools" you are going to need for your business. Virus removal is just a small part of the business especially if you're going to do hardware repairs as well.

The pain of losing a dog

I feel your pain. Although I haven't a dog now( I'm working on it) I've had 2 during my marriage and grew up with dogs in the family. As said only people who have owned dogs will understand the connection.

    Verifying Certs?

Just checked and it works. Mine are old from the NT days 1999 but the Certs show on one sheet, 6 of them. I don't think it's mandatory to show anyone but I would have thought if requested he would be more than happy. Even just ask for his Microsoft ID.

    Verifying Certs?

You could ask for their Microsoft ID and see where it goes from there. He can share it I think here. https://mcp.microsoft.com/Anonymous//Transcript//Validate

Worth it? PC Repair Tracker & Quickbooks Integration

I've been looking briefly at Quickfile and it looks the business. Integration with PCRT would be brilliant. It really does have everything a sole trader needs except the hands on work that PCRT does. Integration with Dropbox, Paypal and Google Calendar is ace.

Very rarely work weekends. My website says 9am to 9pm 7 days a week but that is taking phone calls only.

Software to help automate work logs

I can understand giving people generic notes but detailed itemised ones not so sure. I certainly wouldn't name programs used except in my own notes. As said PCRT does quite a lot.
