I hope I'm not the only one...

Anyone else get that niggle that you have to put something right?

Everytime I clean my ears out, I have to sort the box out! Niggles me if one is out of line.

One of my bad (or is it?) ones is the supermarket checkout. Every item on the belt must be straight and well placed so all my shopping slots together like a jigsaw puzzle. The separators between my shopping and the other shoppers must be 90 degrees to the edge of the checkout, not carelessly slanted. Bottles and other tall items must lay with their tops facing forward, not falling over or rolling around up and down the belt. (I swear some people reach their adult years and still have no freaking concept of basic physics!)
I can feel the funny looks sometimes from my fellow shoppers but I don't care.

Strange thing is that some things in my life remain disorganised and messy (A.D.D. to blame for those I think...)

Nope, my Q-tips are all scattered about in the box.. especially when the box is getting empty. At least they are contained in the box, eh? :p

We have a shadow board for tools. I turn the screwdrivers sets so you can see which is flat \ cross point blades. Some bozo on nights just mixers them all up:mad:

You are all a truly sick bunch of **********

All my important tools are exactly where I left them. Which admittedly can vary day by day.

As for the cotton buds, I keep a collection of them stuck up my ***.

Frankly, my *** isn't particularly bothered if they are ordered or not.

Ok, I do talk out of my "cotton bud parking bay", but that's just me for ya.

As for checkouts, my daughter arranges items in an orderly fashion... And I just love twisting the occasional item ..... Just .... out of wack. [emoji2]

Sorry.

Back on topic, one of my jobs upon return is to TOTALLY strip out my office, and get better organised.

Don't know if this counts, but for me it's the dishwasher. I'll put one dish or glass in there and end up rearranging everything already present.

If I find myself looking over my wife's shoulder as she loads the washer, I have to walk away. And then rearrange it later. I just KNOW the way I do it means the difference between washed and clean.

No discussion of jet position, spray head direction or waterflow changes her process.

Oddly, she actually has OCD - but somehow it misses that area of her life. Or now that I think about it, maybe she's gaslighting me so I'll do the dishes. Not sure which.

Lol, don't even get me started on the dishwasher - "Honey, you can't put this huge pan over the top of the jets.. nothing else gets washed!" Crickets.

Yeah they're famous for that....overload the dishwasher and put HUGE things in, blocking it for smaller items. And then they go to unload it after the wash cycle...and complain about so many things not being clean. "This dishwasher doesn't work right!" she says.

"Huh", I say..."always works fine when I re-arrange it and kick off a wash cycle!"

//facepalm!

I'm selective with my OCD....some things have to be done right. Sink can't be left with dishes in it overnight, always cleaned, put away, sink 'n counters clean. Lawn has to be mowed a certain way (pattern with the tractor), car has to be washed a certain way, pool has to be cleaned a certain way. Yet...inside of my car is often a mess, my office is often a mess. Vacuum...has do be done completely, cover every square inch. Don't care about my clothing much. Tools...lazily left all over the place. Basement..a mess.

+1 My wife just puts stuff in there in any order. I re-arrange it so it's stacked logically: bigger bowls at the back, smaller at the front, large dished grouped, then smaller dishes next, etc. Also remove and rinse off left-overs before putting things into the washer. All nice and orderly. Wife has just given up now and leaves stuff on the counter for me to put into the dishwasher.

Another thing that's different between us, is the way she writes up lists, like grocery lists. Her items are at completely random angles and positions, mine are in columns and groups. She is fastidious about vacuuming, making beds, tidying the house. My workbench, work area and desk are disasters. Maybe my sloppiness is really my OCD.

Mine is Thanksgiving dinner. Well basically the turkey, stuffing, etc. When I load the plate up I plan it so everything will be gone at the same time. Not too much of one thing.
