I got a red one in my PC and I personally like the added light. I have a case with a window as well because I like to actually see what is going on inside. It has actually been a good thing because I had a fire fall down and hit a fan, was making a horrible noise. I was able to see it by looking through the window.

you can even see data moving between the various components of your PC. It's awesome!
haha :D

Seriously though, unless you're running a Colossus replica, what is there to watch? With solid state computing, the only moving parts left to see are the fans themselves.

I do think a neatly built system, one with a well designed motherboard and lots of shiny parts, can be a bit of a work of art though. With a transparent door and a bit of illumination they can be nice to look at, but there's still not much to watch.

Well build that computer in an airtight cabinet and leave the hard drive covers off - then you might have something to watch :)

Hate 'em. Hate windows too. Gaudiest things in the world in my opinion. Basically the computer equivalent of loud exhausts on cars. or girls with giant fake breasts. I just don't get the appeal and can't help but interpret it as a plea for attention.

I remember my first computer build ever. I got a case with a window and a bunch of led fans because I thought it would look cool. When I first turned that sucker on the joy of having it work was diminished quite a bit by how much I regretted the aesthetics.

My current desktop is still a gaming system, but its in a Define R5 windowless case. Its sleek looking, but not showy. I can actually put this in a room where other people might see it and not be self-conscious about it.
