You have go to be kidding me! The domain I just bought

hardwareinstallremote.png

How does this work?
Why does it cost so much? I can download it for free!!!!

I just picked up the following:
StCatharinesVirusRemoval.com
SaintCatharinesVirusRemoval.com
NiagaraFallsVirusRemoval.com
NiagaraVirusRemoval.com

I also picked up wifesmaidenname.ca so I'll be getting her family vanity emails. (Well, 10 members of her family through Google Apps). I don't have much personal use for a vanity address and mylastname.ca/com/etc isn't available, even though mylastname.me is)

Preface: In our region, we have a hospital Emergency ward where you take your life threatening issues; you get seen based on your urgency. Important but non-fatal cases go (during daylight hours) to our "Prompt Care" where you get seen on a first-come-first-seen basis. For my upcoming little shop, I was thinking of calling it "PC Prompt Care" as promptcare.com was long taken. Didn't think to check till now (as I didn't think it would be free) but I just grabbed PromptCare.ca
I was floored that it was available.

So, I have most of my keywords secured. Not all - I didn't act on ...DataRecovery.com as I don't get a lot of demand for it.

I just managed to snag up "remoterepairnow.com" I can't believe that wasn't taken. :D

Now to make something of it. (like #1 on google for "remote repair" bahahaha)

Useless topic, I know, but something I just had to share. :) Let me know if you all think it's as good as I do.
remoterepairnow.com

Thought I'd dig this up as it's the most relevant:
PCF1X.com PCRepa1r.com F1xMyPC.com (and .infos)
Let me tell you, getting people (especially the elderly) to deliberately a URL is a royal pain. Don't bother. Oh, and .infos are a waste of money; they almost never got traffic coming through them.

I bought PromptCare.ca a couple of years ago when I was planning my business name change. I was more than a little pleased and very surprised that it was available.

After my previously mentioned URL headaches, I just looked for and found available: RemoteCare.ca which will nicely parallel my main one for sending people to get a remote connection set up. Again, very surprised to have found it available.

(If anyone wants to buy one of the second two .coms, make me an offer)

Did anyone ever figure out how to do the remote hardware installs? Is he keeping it his little secret?
I can only assume it goes something like....

1. Place order
2. Drop ship parts to customer
3. Customer calls you back
4. Talk customer through installing the hardware
a. Unplug cables
b. Remove cover
c. Install said hardware
d. Replace cover
e. Plug all cables back in
f. Power on machine
e. Install drivers....DONE
5. Customer never pays for hardware installs again?

Well, I don't know if these are good ideas or not but it seems to be the direction I'm heading in.

Main business: PromptCare.ca. Remote sessions via RemoteCare.ca
For my residential RMM, I've got ConstantCare.ca (site pending) where I'm pitching it as frequent updates and maintenance and proactive care, etc. As some people hum and haw over the idea of spending regular money (I bill quarterly) on their computer, I was thinking of a "lite" version that I might pitch as an annual fee and probably use dMaintenance instead. With that in mind, just grabbed "WeeklyCare.ca".

Oh, and if someone wants to pursue a similar line, I've got two .com to pitch with a consulting fee of one beer for each one you use ($5, post-paid, via paypal) PM me for the available URL.
