[SOLVED] XP running access and door security

Going to see this property manager tomorrow. Last I was there the xp was having a bit of trouble so I exported and backed up all the Access stuff to his Windows 10 All in one.

The XP uses a phone line off an internal modem so tenants can buzz in guests. The xp's down, won't power on I'm checking it out tomorrow. He doesn't want to change systems or I'd have used a BNI contact to take care of that. I'll try to get the xp working and check the power cord as well since that's the original.

If worst comes to worst I was thinking temporarily at least use the all in one with a USB to phone jack adapter and download Access to the Win 10 computer (same all in one), import the program then trouble shoot. I've never worked with Access before but I'm pretty good with PHP so hopefully small learning curve.

Not sure the usb to phone jack will work though.

Any thoughts or experiences?

Got the xp working with the old power button down one minute trick. The power cord has a small three hole input which I'd never seen before. It's a Dell. My guess is an experiment gone awry. Doesn't look fun to replace and I'm prepping him for the transfer anyway. Told client to buy Access for his all in one.

Gave me a bottle of champagne for my wife and me. Covered guy code and reminded me of Valentine's Day.

Love it when clients are appreciative.
