Nintendo is making a strong showing, it really hit hard with the innovation of the wii. I'm not sure all it's tricks are out of the bag yet.

The "Wii" is last generation. The "Wii U" is the current generation system and is selling extremely poorly. Both Xbox One and PS4 sold more on launch day than Wii U sold in its entire first quarter.

That's not a "strong showing".



As for the OP. Well...South Park declared the Xbox One the winner.

It has two hdmi sockets, "in" and "out".

The xbox sits in between the receiver and the TV

It's just that, in order to watch TV, the xbox HAS to be running.

this had been discussed a lot in the run up to release. the idea is that its supposed to act as a audio/gesture interface to take the place of the remote. MS wants it to be more than a game machine and for everything to go through it.

There were some concerns about the Big Brother aspect that Kinect is always on and knows how many people are in the room, who is there if they have a profile set up, and what you are watching.

I know the Wii is last gen, but my point was and IS that Nintendo make some big ground up with the innovation of the motion controller. The wii U has flopped so far, but I have a hunch that nintendo has been at the drawing board for a long time cooking up their next "innovation".

Seems the consoles are trading blows fairly equally so far, with the PS4 having been out a week longer and comes in at $100 cheaper I'd say the XB1 is doing alright.

Still not really interested in either, if I do buy a PS4 it will be after they drop in price.
