I'm running out of ideas, server was patched last night and keeps rebooting because of a patch. This is a HyperV server and it's a DC.

It starts up normally and says preparing to configure patches. That goes on for about 10 minutes then it says failed configuring patches reverting changes.

This goes on for several hours and then it shutsdown but just hangs on shutdown.

I have tried safe mode but it goes right into the configuring patches, also tried the last known good config that worked.

I'm running out of ideas, how do I fix this?

Is this the underlying host or one of the VM's? You really should not have the underlying host doing anything, such as DC, other than hosting. Is the F8 option working?

Did you disable secure boot prior? Try now

Otherwise you need to stop the installer service in the VM and roll back
