I've been very pleased with the additional browsing safety provided by this addon/extention.
As quoted from their site:
"WOT uses color-coded symbols to show the rating of a site: green indicates trustworthiness, yellow tells you to be cautious, and red indicates potential danger. "
I usually install chrome and wot on customer's computers who use ie as their main browser and recommend them to use chrome. I also install it on ie just in case they continue to use it as their primary browser. I have not noticed any slow down in performance by using this addon and I recommend it for all of you to use. Some antivirus software have the same type of tool, but they usually slow down the browsing experience from my experience.
