Good morning all.

So, I had 3 separate customers in the past 2 weeks whom had Windows 10 (1607) installed. Each wanted Movie Marker as they apparently used it when they had Windows 7. Problem is, its not offered by Microsoft anymore and any that you find on the interweb are saturated with virus'.

So, lucky for them, I happen to have the installer directly from Microsoft that I got quite some time back for a Windows 8 customer. I had thought I deleted it, but going through some flash drives I found it. So then, if anyone wants it or needs it, here you go. Directly from my site. Posting it here as I don't want 1000's of people killing my bandwidth from a Google search. I hope someone has a use for it.

BTW, yes it works perfectly fine in Windows 10. I even installed it on my own Windows 10 Pro and it works like a charm.

Dropbox link.

At the moment. I've had a rash of Windows 10 + Windows Essentials 2012 users with mail problems (Windows Live Mail, not with Hotmail/Outlook/Live accounts) in the last month or so and I can't see Movie Maker being any better protected against Windows changes.

Helping – nay, encouraging – clients to stay on unsupported software is short-sighted, imo. Better to be testing alternatives yourself, ready to migrate them.

I have used it for years and it is still on my W10 machine I have downloaded from the link again in case I need it for a customer. But as it may be phased out what are people using as a replacement for quick and simply movie jobs.

Premiere Elements is great for the basics. I use Premiere Pro personally, but I've installed Elements for many clients and they've all been very happy. Even more so because I'm familiar with Premiere so I can help them if they need it. Free video editors are great, but if they want help from me then they have to use something I'm familiar with.

Which version is this? I tend to stay with v2.6 for simple needs (which I have around here somewhere).

This is my arsenal on my BIG machine. Its what I use when I need to do clients stuff. I do frequent audio/video edits for the local radio and TV station as well so I need the "good stuff".
