Windows 8 Not Booting

Hello
I have a client with a relatively new Asus laptop running Windows 8 which is currently not booting up. It continually arrives at the bright blue screen "Page fault in non paged area' straight after the Windows 8 logo is displayed and restarts itself. It then continues to try a 'Startup Repair' which does not lead anywhere. I have run memtest and that has passed successfully. I have tried getting into safe mode, which I have achieved twice, however the Shift+ F8 keyboard combination is no longer allowing me to get into safe mode. The key combination just gets ignored.

Anyone experienced this before.Any ideas on how to go about this?

Thanks so much in advance

Have to be really fast with Shift-F8. Maybe you are missing the timing?

Try booting up a live Linux disk and seeing how well it runs. Maybe an underlying manufacturer defect?

Check the HDD, customer may have dropped it and decided not to tell you.

One last suggestion, if you do happen to get in to safe mode. Check for recently installed drivers or software that may have caused the issue.

Thanks for your response.Yes I know you have to be quick with the Shift-F8. I have tried numerous times with success only once or twice in the first hour. I even tried with an external usb keyboard. I am suspecting some sorts of driver defects or software issues, but the problem is that I can't get into safe mode any more.

I am hoping I don't have to reinstall the OS, if it is in fact a software issue. But if I really have to and could backup data and try the new 'refresh your pc'

I will see if I can check HDD

All fixed now. Thanks for your help. your suggestion was correct. I managed to get into safe mode and it happened to be an issue with the anti-virus software (Kaspersky) which was not compatible with Windows 8.
I removed it, and everything seems fine now/
