Just wondering how many members are running or have installed Windows 7 Media Center on their or their customers machines. The setup was a breeze and user interface is great, the free epg guide is fantastic works well but best of all is all those problems I had in Vista and Xp media center have now gone. What do you guys think of the new Media Center in Windows 7?

I would wait a month and then report back on how great it is. Sure it's easier to install, but you haven't waited for any surprises that are likely to come later.

The only surprise to me is that it worked straight out of the box, it recognised and setup my Hauppuage Digital TV Tuner with the latest drivers and I was up and running within 20 minutes.

I love it and would recommend it to anyone with netflix because there is a netflix browser built into the new media center so you can stream from your netflix account.

Building a DVR or HTPC

Ok I have a question about a home build of my HTPC. I think its an obvious answer but I am just not finding it I will ask anyway.

I am building a HTPC and I need to get a TV card so I can get rid of my cable companies DVR that I am renting which is providing me HD Digital Cable with a Pace DVR. So my question is what TV card should I get ( priced no more than $200,) that is able to act like my cable companies DVR and allow me to get ALL of the same channels I am getting right now.

I am asking this question because from what I read people are only getting digital and analog signals from over the air and not directly through the cable line which I want.

What all do I need to get this working?

Specs
ASUS P5N7A-VM LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 9300/nForce 730i HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
So I will be using Windows Media Center

It really depends on what country/provider you have. I think ATI makes one and as long as your access is determined by a smart card it will work just fine with your existing card.

Does it still look for the CGMS-A? I found older versions of Media Center useless. Broadcasters are using the "CopyNever" and Media Center heeds that. I think I will stick with GB-PVR for now.
