Anybody else seeing this lately? On wednesday I did a callout and a simple ipconfig release and renew resolved, another 6 have since been resolved including my own bench machine!

The person I visited on Wednesday has called to say he has the same problem - I hope i don't have 6 customers returning with the problem next week!

We have had several calls with this symptom in the last few weeks. I'm not sure there is a consistent fix, different things tend to fix it for different computers. I remember wrestling with one laptop on and off all weekend before it started working.

I have had one this week. This was a netgear access point connecting to a Apple hub (not too familiar with apple) and it was stuck on "unknown network" and took forever in the "identifying network" stage. I traced it down to the fact that it was not getting an I.P. address from the router for some reason. After messing around with it, I just set it to a static address and left it at that.

Brilliant, I can confirm that latest update has fixed it on all machines it seems. I also got the problem on my home laptop today, so it really is widespread here in the UK.

Had loads of these as wel, have solved them by adding a static ip and then changed back to dhcp or resetting ip stack in cmd....

These updates always makes me wonder how the heck Ms can be a multi billion company
