WIndows 10 does not have drivers for 90% hardware out there

Well really high end commercial printers don't seem to have any drivers home users sure most are there but these printers are like 20k with sorting, double side printing and stapling .

When I had problems with windows 8 not having drivers I would run windows 7 drivers and install them in compatibility mode, the same most likely applies here. There is always a way around, except for your mamma, LOL, OK I couldn't help that one.:D

How? Your running the insider builds on production units?
the full os was already downloaded to the unit thanks to ms pushing it early... the key was released 2 days before the official launch so all you had to do was change the key file out and it activated the OS.

we were running the pre release too but only on the office pc's

now we just spent 5k on adverts pushing the os upgrade with a tuneup... working well so far.

And I wouldn't put this fresh from Beta on any production machine let alone your POS units. That's foolhardy IMO for a business.
we've been running the pre release on select machines for months... all the original issues have been fixed. after full release we fully deployed so far not a single issue on new or old hardware... still have a win7 machine for a few programs that don't like change aka itunes for in depth work (normal use it works fine but seems to have a few hiccups in relation to dfu).
even my field tech machines are migrated. no problems.

Just dealt with a Canon AIO printer/fax that had issues with the WIA driver. Scanner would work fine right after install, but not after reboot. The MS Fax and Scan software would just freeze on "establishing connection". However, the Canon provided "tool kit" software had no issues scanning. I ended up just telling her it was a compatibility issue and she'd have to use the Canon software to scan.

I wouldn't be putting myself in the situation where I'm installing Windows 10 on computers that are using Enterprise grade printers. Are you letting your business clients upgrade to Windows 10 already? Need to wait for Software and Hardware guys to catch up. ...

Windows 10 system yet and I've no intention of pushing it out to my business customers for at least a couple more years, and not until I have a year or so experience of working with it myself with business software, in a domain environment, etc..

if you're upgrading enterprise systems rib a check on all hardware and software first, that's a given i thought for business upgrades anyways....

Exactly!

For SMB..and especially enterprise level clients...moving to the latest operating system within a year of its release is....unheard of, never done, and simply asking for trouble if some IT guy pulls some pizza tech move and tries it. It's commonly said that the latest OS usually doesn't start sliding into business networks until after the first service pack has been released. Not to mention the common sense of checking all the "support" of the LOB apps, as well as the support of all the MFPs and other hardware on the network.

Win7 or 8 won't offer the upgrade if it's joined to a domain. So someone is forcefully attempting an upgrade, or buying new computers with Win10.

New computers going into SMB/Enterprise are still shipping with Windows 7...there's a reason business class computers have that "Windows downgrade" license. We don't even do Windows 8 for our clients...it's going to be Windows 7 for at least a couple more years.

Thread topic blown way out of proportion. Granted I have not done a lot of Win10 upgrades yet...but so far, not a single residential or SMB level printer has failed to get installed.

Only issue we have seen is with old nVidia cards - I think it was a GT 200 series on the one client. Another client called that had issues printing to a Ricoh copier with Edge browser due to the copier requiring accounting codes but worked fine when they switched to IE mode.
