Yeah, my wife refuses to go "camping" unless there is a cabin, electricity, bathrooms, and hot water involved. Needless to say we don't go. My idea of camping is a sleeping bag, a fishing pole, and some matches.

Yep, it's now the norm to have it. I know personally from our campground most of the reservation phone calls always ask if we have wifi. That's when I decided to go ahead and put it up. 80 acres of wifi, it was quite the project. Once we got ours setup many campgrounds around us started to incorporate it as well which worked out well for me

open-mesh... We do something like that around our local town (place several POE access points in people houses (offering free broadband in return)) all linking back to the openmesh box. It arrives to the front page, and asks them to login, denying them access to any other site, and I'm pretty sure this is what we use (not sure because my colleague set it up, not me). The front page (if I remember correctly) has an automatic payment system so once the server is setup, requires no interaction from us (or so the theory goes). It is currently a lot cheaper than those little usb 3g modem things; we charge something like 99p for just a single day unlimited usage, or it's a lot cheaper to buy a month or two at a time.
