Who to partner with for data recovery - Ontrack or Drivesavers?

+1 for DriveSavers

I've been partnered with them for years now. Very helpful. The quote about charging just to look at it is incorrect. It's FREE. As long as they go through me first, it's also FREE if they decide not to proceed with the work (due to lack of funds perhaps). They will even work with the customer on a payment plan :p

As the name suggests, I perform data recovery as well. For those that I'm unable to do, I generally send them to DriveSavers.

Nice to see that we have some local technibblers offering services like this. Gives us a trusted source to go to on top of the big boys who offer this.

^^^ +1 for the podcasts from Podnutz in general. Excellent info for any PC techs or guys doing small business technology support like many of us are.

I listen to their shows weekly.

Yes, they have some great info. I copy the MP3's to a thumb drive and lessen to them in my car between appointments.

Thanks for info.

If you are serious about it I would take his class to. I plan to do the at home class. Its $4000 but I believe its worth every penny.

If anyone is interested I've recently begun the roll out of an innovative data recovery service that's based on Linux and Open Source recovery tools. Basically I perform logical data recovery. If the drive spins up, in most cases, the chances are good of recovering data from it using my methods.

What sets my service apart from others is that I am able to do this remotely anywhere, worldwide. It's' all done via the Internet from a customized Linux boot CD that I've developed. This eliminates the need to pack and ship a drive out for recovery. My service is fast and convenient and my clients, so far, are more than pleased.

As of now my pricing model is donation based. You set the price.

I know advertising is not allowed and I've hesitated to post this but it does fit the thread. So send me a PM if you are interested in learning more. Or if you would like a demo.

data recovery partnership

Hi guys,

I just ran across this thread and thought I'd comment. I had taken Scott's course in the past and found it very good! If you plan on investing in data recovery be warned that the tools needed are very expensive and the years of experience required to become proficient cannot be purchased with money. Trust me, you don't want to practice on client's drives.

As far as a data recovery partnership is concerned please check out my page here for details on my partnership programs!

I accept drives from all over the world.
