Who do you ReSell for?

We resell Nod32 AV mainly to businesses and Education but I tend to recommend AVG to home users

I got a call from ESET today to resell their products, 25%, is that the standard?

Pretty standard. Everyone gives you a cut, 25% is about the sweet spot.

We resell for CA for an antivirus and antispyware package, Fortinet, Cisco, IC Intracom (both their Intellinet and Manhattan lines,) Mozy, Vault Logix, and McAfee TOPS for big business installations (it is NOTHING like the retail product, it is small, fast, and gives the user no messages/windows/questions, and it is centrally managed through a website for you to work on all your clients machines from one interface.)

We are partnered up with about 10 others, but those are usually not your typcal "we sell your parts/software" type deals.

I became a reseller for NOD32 a few months ago and I'm getting 30% discount. I managed to sell 20 licenses to a business the other day, which is quite a tasty profit :D I do think it's a fantastic AV though.

I don't really sell any other software, so that's about it. It's a shame Kaspersky don't have a reseller program.

This is very interesting seeing who sells/resells what. What other things do you resell or promote?

I know we all sell parts, but what about new H/W?

Also, I would assume that if you resell it, you at least use it? Is this true?
Personally I don't know if I would sell something that I was unsure about using myself. Your thoughts?

AVG Antivirus, Drive Savers, and just recentlty signed on for Mozy.

How is it dealing with AVG? Do they have a good/reachable US presence? I didnt really do much looking since we already had our CA and McAfee TOPS partnerships in place. But I would like know how hard it is to deal with them (since they are over in europe.)

At any given time we have about 20 techs in the field working. Sometimes in a real good day it can be more than that. With the volume we do with partners we need really good access to our account manager and support for our techs in the field.

I download all of my AVG software, and buy licenses from the reseller web-site. You order licenses and they give you a percent off retail based on volume.
I had a problem the other night at 11 PM, and they responded within 10 minutes. All AVG Authorized Resellers are privileged for priority technical support.

Phone based technical support or email? In a lot of situations a person might be without internet and a phone number would be the best way.

Avg

I resell AVG and got approved rather quick and their support has been great. Was getting like 100 Licenses for a school. I knew that a school already got a 50% discount and was not sure how to process it. Called AVG and they walked me thru it. Great support for a first time call to them.
