Which laptop do you use for work?

Asus eeePC 1005HA. Put a solid state in it and upgraded the memory. When I'm at the house, it's a thin client, when I'm on a job, it's a portable server.

ThinkPad x201t, loaded up with OneNote and some other apps works great for troubleshooting and note taking.

Which laptop do repair techs here use?

I currently have an ancient Dell Inspiron 510m so I'm in desperate need of an upgrade as its slow and customers probably expect me to be using the latest tech.

I'm considering an ASUS Eee PC, but I'm wondering what others here use.

To the op: the eee pc is a fairly decent product (as far as netbooks go). I got one for my wife upgraded to 2gb and 320gb hdd. She is rough on computers and it has been doing great for the year or so that she's had it.

my main desktop is a Dell inspiron 6400 running Ubuntu Linux.
I was carrying a Dell mini 9 that I had ubuntu, then OSX, and finally ubuntu for about 2 years.
Now I'm carrying a Vostro 3700 that I bought a few months ago.

I use a MSI U130 when I'm out and about. I got it off ebay very cheaply as the owner had bricked it by updating the BIOS incorrectly. I had it fixed within 5 minutes of receiving it :D It's not the most powerful machine, so I put another gig of ram in it, but it runs Windows 7 nicely.

I use an Acer One. I paid £130 for it brand new last year. It came with 512MB RAM and some awful stripped down Linux. I removed the motherboard and upgraded to 1GB with a spare 512MB 4200 I had.

I have put Libuntu on it, which is a very stripped down version of Ubuntu (it is now officially part of the Ubuntu family) and it is the best operating system I've ever used ever.

It makes my Atom seem like the quickest machine on earth for general web surfing.

The good thing about my Acer is its SSD based, so it can take a lot of abuse when travelling. I use all the time at home too when in bed.

I also use an Acer Aspire One that I bought refurbished (couldn't tell it from new) a couple of years ago. I maxed out the RAM (1.5G) and replaced the HDD with an SSD. It runs Win 7 Pro effortlessly and is a nice, rugged, little unit.

personally i've used an original aspire one / winxp + 1.5gb ram upgrade and it was perfect if i needed anything while out onsite, its not long given up the ghost (mobo fail! :() so i've replaced it with a cheap advent verona 13.3" ultraportable. its the same size as the A4 pad i usually carry round, has great battery life and is very light and looks professional!
the best part was i bought it off ebay for £60 with a slight damaged screen and already had a new screen to fit! £200 laptop for £60! :D

I use my 15" Macbook Pro, 160GB Intel SSD, 80GB Win 7 and 80GB OSX - Maybe in the near future I'll get an Eee Slate EP121 - but price isn't justified right now :(
