What would you call them?

I don't know where they've gotten the phrase but many older people that come into the shop use the phrase "computer illiterate."

i hear this from almost all my clients each with a different level of knowledge. people in thier 20 all the way up to their 90s(yes i have a 94 year old customer!)

lol.. I don't see how you could get away with this without sounding like you are just trying to rip people off.. I understand what you're going after, and apparently florence henderson beat you to it..

But if you got a flier that said,

do you know nothing about cars and have lots of money?? Come get your car fixed by me!!!!"

What would you think?

Taking this idea to the next step

How about: "If you're one who's not real Tech Savy"
or
"I Specialize in providing great service to those about to or are already receiving their Social Security"

Whatever you print up, make sure it's in a font that they can read 'LARGE':D

As a Senior Citizen myself who receives his monthly Social Security check, I tend to frequent those places that offer "Senior Discounts".

As part of your newsletter, you should include a list of local establishments that offer a Senior Discount. (include the big chains also like Carl's Jr, Subway, etc) In fact, include it in each newsletter and keep it updated, and noting those that are "NEW DISCOUNT ESTABLISHMENTS". I suspect that one would look forward to receiving you Newsletter.

To go a step farther, you can really use this to your advantage. As you have free time, drop by your local businesses and let them know of your services and that you are sending out a newsletter to your clients. Ask if they would like to be included in your newsletter as providing a Senior Discount and in each newsletter, feature each new discount business. (I think if it is something that this new business wants to offer to your clients only, that they must bring in your Newsletter.) There are a number of 'discount books' that are being sold by schools, etc, as fund raisers so a number of businesses are aware of this process, but in your case, no one has to purchase a 'book'.

This should also be included on your website (if you have one), where one can go and download/print a coupon.

Hope I've given you enough to think about and keep you busy.:)

It might not be PC, but one client called himself "computer retarded"

LOL!

I would advise you not print this ad though.

But to help out I think Computer Illiterate is appropriate. Harsh but the truth and acceptable. End users don't have an ego that tells them that being Computer Illiterate is a terrible thing.
