What Virus protection recommending?

We've been using and recommending Comodo, looks good, installs quick, runs in the background, doesnt slow the machines down. to date, it hasn't let a single virus through.

I'm currently using Noron .... GASP ... HORROR... though most of my reasoning is I get it for free (legally), sure i've heard plenty of stories about it, but i've never had a real problem... I have kaspersky on my other computer and i used to use it on my main pc, til it expired and i got norton for free... so i recommend both

wont recommend mcafee anymore

Okay, I win 4 interwebz, but what AV are you recommending?

I don't. I have yet to see a system that has been infected with a virus that MalwareBytes has intentionally left out of it's database because others have caught it. It's not worth the bog down on the system that most Anti-virus programs cause.

If I had a gun to my head, I'd go with MSE.

I like Comodo. I use it and recommend it. I even signed up with their reseller program. 50% commission on sales. I'm going to recommend it to my customer's and direct them to my website to pay for it and download it. I absolutely love the sandbox.

I only use mse now. If the system doesn't have a valid copy of windows then it either will by the time I'm done or I don't work on it.

+ 3 Microsoft Security Essentials.

I USED to install Avast on people's computers but I got sick and tired of most people getting confused into PAYING for it after 3 months, or worse... people telling me their anti-virus software had EXPIRED because they couldn't figure out how to register it.

I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials for free AV.
I recommend ESET NOD32/Smart Security for paid AV.
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware for cleaning up problems with others tools but this is a good one.

Knowing no antivirus is perfect... I recommend MSE to my home clients or for a free solution and ESET Nod32 for my business clients and those who I feel need a better, more effective solution.

Paid- Emsisoft AntiMalware (A-Squared)
Free- Avast or Avira
Plus Immunet in addition to whatever is chosen.

After an infection we set OpenDNS and recommend Web of Trust for all users.

WinPatrol for everyone!

No longer advise using AVG..paid or free..too many issues and false positives.
For free AV's I use Avast and Avira..preference on Avast. For paid I use and recommend Sunbelt Vipre..use it on all my machines and find it better than anything else I've ever tried.
Malwarebytes is an essential addition to every machine imho. :)

I always recommend Avast for all customers. I have signed up to their affiliate program and get 35% commission on all sales, which are made by clicking on the banner on my site. It's a fairly easy sale, as it only costs £29.95 in the UK, and most UK customers have been forced into buying Norton (for £60+) when they bought their computer.

I've installed MSE on a number of machines for customers who want free AV, and found that it works well on Vista & 7, but can slow the system down on older XP machines. Especially for the ones with less than 1Gb of RAM.

Oh, and I always install Malware Bytes & CCleaner as well.
