What processor can i upgrade too?

I have an HP Pavilion All In One with the AMD E2-2000 APU processor. I love this computer using it for one of my businesses because of the screen size, but the processor is killing me. Does anyone know of a good upgrade processor that will work in this computer? Thanks.

Be easier and give a better result to just swap the HDD with an SSD.

E2-2000? Just find something else with a comparable screen size. An SSD may help but it's still going to be a slow slow dog.

What's the screen size in question? Because you can get some mighty small systems to slap onto VESA mount points on the back of a monitor.

I'll also note that that processor has approximately 1/4 the performance benchmarks of the "Certified Refurbished" ThinkPad T420s with 2nd-generation i5 that GeekDeal and Newegg are selling on eBay for $220-240 (sometimes lower). Admittedly those are almost certainly all Intel graphics and 1366x768, but still...

And looking at the price difference between those and the T420s with nVidia graphics really makes me wish I'd popped for the extra $50 when I bought my T430. $50 difference then, $150+ difference now.

Pretty sure that E2-2000 is soldered on the board. So you're SOL there pretty much.

RAM+SSD is your upgrade path. Since it's an all-in-one I doubt those are soldered but they are in certain laptops.

For the money, your far far better off getting a nice used desktop off of eBay, and fitting it with an SSD.
Then get yourself a nice 24" monitor for $100-$150 and call it a day.

You can get a nice machine with a used intel Core i5 processor and 8GB of memory for $150.

Then spend $80-$100 and get a 240GB SSD.

Out the door for $400, and it will be light years ahead of what your using now. If you go the desktop route,
a $50 add on graphics card shores up that front as well.


If you want / need the mobility then you can't go wrong with a used thinkpad. T420 machines are easily
sourced for $150 ish on ebay. If you want the 15.6 screen the T520 is usually less than $50 more. If you
watch you can usually get the complete and in decent shape for that money... then all you need to do
is reinstall the OS and configure. If you do go that route, pay attention to the battery / charger situation.
You'll really want genuine OEM Lenovo battery / charger and with the charger make sure you get the
90W version and not the 65W. The 65W will work in most cases, but I've noticed decreased performance
when using the 65. Some i7 versions of these machines require the 90W adapter. The battery isn't such
a big deal. If you need a new one, get a quality OEM one for around $30

Ya i did the ram upgrade and ssd and didnt make much of a difference. I have a laptop also i use, but love this all in one on my desk. Guess ill just have to sell and upgrade because the processor in this thing sucks lol
