What netbook/laptop do you carry?

Why? Why would you need four operating systems?

I like to work on different environments. Some environments such as Legal offices and industrial factories will use some UNIX based applications such as inventory databases, etc. I try to get more familiar with as many software environments as possible. Overkill? Yeah...if I wasn't actively using them. Plus, the Linux environments are great to learn...

I have an EeeePC 1000h 2 gb ram 250gb hdd with an upgraded wifi running win7 pro with xp mode installed also have vista and a virt pc. all runs great!

I'm looking into adding gps and a touch screen to it.

I have a netbook with win7 on it but after having it for over a year I find that I need a more powerful system . Now for me I think that I will get either a macbook air or something of equal design. For the time being I carry my 13 inch macbook and the speed is awesome.

MAC users like computer people that use macs. For example , a tech guy I know asked to take over his clients while he went on vacation. I get a call from one of his clients that the wireless system is not working. Get there take out my macbook, fix the problem and everyone was happy. Once they saw I had an Apple laptop they felt comfortable since they all had macs at the location

Thanks for the input along with the others. I actually have a Macbook I use for everything at home but didn't for some reason think anyone would take it out onsite. I'm running it dual boot with Windows 7 and also with Parallels running XP so I think it will be my main machine offsite.

Also the lid of any computer is a great spot for adverting your business. On my white macbook I have my business logo on it and when the computer is on the apple logo gives it a nice glow

Previously I used a 14.1" HP DV1000 Series & that got a little too heavy after awhile. So now I use a HP Mini 1000 Series Netbook on Win7 Pro on a samsung 64GB SSD. That thing flies. Its good enough for me on the go. The business logo on the lid sounds like a nice idea I might give it a shot.

I've been carrying a Samsung NC10 for the last year or more. Battery life is great (usually more than 6 hours). It's running Windows XP, but that's more than adequate for my needs.
I do a lot of home callouts for wireless network setup/problem diagnosis and it has been an invaluable tool to have in my bag.

Plus because it has an excellent keyboard and screen, it comes with me on holidays, so I can keep on top of the work going on back in the workshop.

the computer I use for business is a Dell Inspiron 5100 that I recently repaired. Before then it had been left to gather dust for the better part of 5 years.

The battery is damaged from overheating, so it has a total of 8 min of battery life


Needless to say, I don't carry it with me

If the battery suffered an overheating issue, I would suggest NEVER putting that battery in the machine.
