What internet connection do you have?

I'm on 3G/iphone as hotspot at the moment :(
Cancelled my talktalk contract and ordered from BT, the day before BT was meant to start working their system cancelled my order (apparently it does that sometimes) now I am without broadband for 10 days as I have to wait for a new start date. (apparently this cannot be changed without the risk of the system cancelling the order again!)

Really not happy!

I have BT Infinity as you can see around 37M/bits dl and 8M/bits upload

I'm on Virgin XXL but cant get the upload speed. Supposed to be auto upgraded to 100Mb sometime this month

20M down / 768k up. I would really like 2M up, but not an option with my provider in my area. When we move I am looking to go with another provider which offers 15M down / 2 M up that I plan to go to. The difference in down speed is worth the added up speed for me.

My provider recently upgraded the lines in our city. :) right now we have 100/5 500GB cap. They also offer 250/15 1TB cap for $30 more and for another $20 you get unlimited.

Hi Blue Banana - I live just up the mountain pass, across the Orange and over the desert from you in sunny Namibia - don't tell me you okies in SA are worse off than your long lost cousins in SW Africa? Only joking!

I guess most of the members replying to you cant really relate to the level of technology you and I live with, but hey - it keeps us in a job as well doesn't it?

In NAM most of the centres of population (you can count them on one hand, especially when you get out of walking distance to Joe's Beerhouse) have pretty good DSL coverage and speeds and our mobile 3G options are not bad either. I thought Joburg, the Cape and such were very well catered for in that respect as well, so you must be somewhere in the middle of the bush eh? Interested to know where you live and what your client/customer base is - what makes most money for you? Link up with me on a private message and lets see how our circumstances compare. Have a lekker day and go well. PS are you Bulls or Sharks - its gonna make a difference!

I have a wireless setup, no cable or DSL available where I live. 1.5Mbs up/down, no data cap. Cost is $160/month. Fortunately, my employer foots the bill otherwise I would have something even slower!

I have a DSL connection with 10Mbps download and .5 Mbps upload. Some of my customers, however, are still on dial up, and there are many places around us where there is no cell service.

Wow. I am truly salivating over some of the speeds you guys have. Like one or two of the other posters, I am in a pretty rural area. Until very recently (like last month) dsl was not even available, so I have been living with verizon's wireless internet, which generally tests out at about 1.5/1. I have just ordered dsl service and was excited about the 8mbps pipe I will be getting. And then I read this thread and saw 50mbps!!! Holy crap! The fastest service offered in my area is 15mbps, but I just can't justify the $130 price tag. So I will sit here and fume with jealousy.

EDIT:
What the hell, PC Ops!! I was upset enough about 50Mbps, and here you come with 120Mbps!?!?! That's not nice at all!

:D LOL. I'm sure there are plenty others on TN with a connection faster than that. Anyone got an optical fibre connection? Optical fibre = insane connection speeds  as you all probably know.

I have a client that has a 150mbps fios connection and they truly see 150mbps down but only about 40mbps up, still a bad as connection for couple hundred they pay a month

I have a 22/5 connection at the house and that is enough for me

I have fiber to the house ( EPB Fiber ) and get 50mb down with no cap.

I work for a govt agency so depends which location I am at as to what kind of connection I have :-P

I just tested my speed and discovered that I'm only getting half of what I'm being billed for. It looks like a call to my service provider is in order.
