What did you fix today?

Prepped a Dell pc for a company to add to their accounting department.

My big push is getting rid of A LOT of junk in the shop that is destined to the recycling center - about 14 desktops, Smashed monitors, P/S ect... Its a lot to haul out but did get the desktops striped of the useful stuff today.

Had a long time client contact me regarding their Excel program that would "freeze". First thing I did was check for updates and voila'.

One of my calls today was to deliver an AIO that I had done a Win 10 upgrade via clean install. While I was there, the next door neighbor walked over with a laptop and asked if I could take a quick look at it as it was running real slow.

The 500GB C: was 93.5% full! A quick look using WizTree showed that 450GB was in appdata holding 10,000+ quickdumps (going back over a year) of AVG! Told them I could clean it out and gave them an estimate. They said they didn't want to spend over $25 so took the laptop and left!

Computers are not that important anymore so they don't want to pay much to fix them. Back to their phone they go.

Sigh... $25 to fix a laptop is murder, but $8 or $9 a pack for cigarettes,
or $3.50 for a shot of whiskey is perfectly acceptable.

The kicker is that it was a nice laptop: i5, 6GB, 500GB running Win 10. And they didn't want to pay more than $25 to fix it! sigh...

p.s. probably should have offered to buy it for $50!

Today I fixed a galaxy note 3 screen, did a urgent data recovery for a travelling teacher whose laptop motherboard cropped out. I fixed two Playstation 4 motherboards with broken hdmi ports, replaced an ipad 2 digitizer, did a nuke and pave, and fixed a corrupt user profile in a win 7 laptop.

I also broke a new galaxy 6s edge screen assembly
