What Are Your Strategic Goals for 2015?

Business hasn't made one year yet...looking to make over 60K this first year thanks to sub-contracting to an MSP I used to work for way back when.

Things I'd like to do is focus on:

- Have website professionally redesigned (a BNI member makes really trick sites and I'm too busy to work on it myself...I like to focus on things that make me money...billable hours)

- Setup job descriptions and create an employee manual (for when I hire)

- Create a knowledge base for employees to use as our SOP when setting up networks, making changes, fixing issues, etc (So that everything is done in a predictable way)

- Get an RMM solution that works for how I do business...RepairShopr does most of what I need but need something with heavy integration to cut down on the amount of data entry we do for new assets and automated ticket creation for events we flag...checking dSS emails is getting to be a major pain

- Work with CC processor in BNI to extend my business into the retail sector...one of the major local processors went out of business so she is experiencing a huge boon of business..I'd like to get in on that as well...but requires me to get familiar with the POS industry...something I don't really dabble in except for club management software like Jonas...

- There is a association management person in BNI that I want to start working with...hopefully I can get into some associations, offer discounts, manage the properties, etc...really wanted to use Unifi for managed WiFi on property but have been having issues during testing

- Work with Business VOIP phone company/CLEC to strengthen our bond so we can approach customers together...this is a huge priority for me as they work with mostly larger business that can support 5+ phone lines

- Touch base with the local Ricoh rep as businesses that require his services would be great for me to get into. He's a little touchy...wants to see me generate business for him before he will send some my way...I generally don't like ppl who "keep score" as for those of you who work with leasing printing equipment know...clients don't come often and moving away from one rep to another is usually not a very cost-effective procedure

- Donate more to charity. I usually try to donate 10% of my net to causes and organizations I appreciate...such as my local high school team...I'd like to donate waaaay more...but need the additional income to do so.

- Become more active on my company blog...think I'll try to post something every day...but work and life always seems to get in the way and this takes a back seat. I really need to just schedule a hour or so a day just to put SOMETHING of value there...

As business picks up I think the one area where majority of business owners fail is they work crazy hours because they don't trust ppl or the quality of the company's work suffers because there are no standardized way of doing things. I'd like to nip this issue in the butt and get all the stuff out of the way for when I do hire...there will be clear expectations as to how they should go about their work.

That's all for now. Don't think I'll get all of this done...this is more pie in the sky thinking...realistically, I'm going to focus on building my billable hours and on downtime I'll try to work towards these things...

In case you haven't noticed, I'm heavily involved in BNI...I like to focus my energy on things that produce results and within my first 3 weeks I had paid back my membership dues for 2 years. For me, in my location, BNI is a HUGE benefit. YMMV

I did it for around 7 or so years....was president of my chapter last year. Very beneficial...we got lots of good business from it, always paid for itself many times. My colleague did it for several years before I did too. We got lots of business from it. I left the group after this years past term...just preparing myself for some changes this year, probably moving back to my home town (just a few towns east).

I am aiming to move more into the Managed Services this year, I don't think it will be as profitable as last year as our turnover was up 35.71% which would take some doing, most was with New Systems.
