Also, when i click your services page, it tells me i am not authorized to view the page and i need to login. ANYONE should be able to see how you can help them. Dont hide this information, PROMOTE it.

I believe in html it is easier to tweak the pages and image tags vice using a cms solution like joomla. And if you look at the site....is it optimized? no....Is it well put together? no... Point being it is "easier" for him to just use some plain html pages, get his point across to customers without them being confused, and also be able to do some editing of the html for search engines.

I've done html, joomla, mambo, phpnuke, etc...and have never had the success i've had with straight html sites in seo endeavors. I have many sites on the first page if not number 1 of search engines and with cms solutions it is not as easy to do.

Maybe it will be easier for you or I to build a four page website with straight HTML, but for some, it's just not worth the hassle. Yeah, I could code my website, but there is no advantage to it other than so I could say I did it. Straight coding is better for SEO than Joomla out of the box, but with a couple of simple extensions added, there is no advantage, plus you get the ease of expansion and backend to simply add content.

I don't know what version of Joomla you've used, but you can easily modify your image tags and change the layouts of the pages through direct html code.

site

I think the advantage is for a novice it is easier to get a site together for search engines in html than joomla or some other cms solution.

How many typical business owners use a cms solution for their customer sites? Answer would be not many. it's not becuase they don't know how to do it but it's not worth the effort.

Show me a tpyical computer repair business that is using a cms solution and let's see where they come up in search engines vice their competitor.

I'm not going to engage in a logical fallacy, correlation does not imply causation. Given a properly written CMS like Joomla (I'm referring to 1.5 by the way) the site can easily be made to appear, to the search engines, as though it's hand coded.

Not engaging in anything trying to help out i20moni and his best course of action is to ditch the joomla site for now.
Only fallacy I have is dozens of sites listed first page of search engines to include nationwide.

Actually, that's what you JUST did. Business website owners that use CMS instead of straight coding are usually looking for a simple expandable website template and/or don't know how to code. These people are also not the type of people that would properly optimize their website for SEO whether they were using a CMS or not. Yes there is a correlation, but the CMS is not necessarily the cause.

Yes, some CMS are poorly written and focus only on visible code and not on SEO, but there are some very capable CMS out there.

Agreed. I use DNN and every skin/module, besides the DNN framework itself, are all built with SEO in mind. I'll rank on the first page once I finish my site. you'll see. ;)

Never said the CMS was the causation. But, yes i20moni should be using HTML vice cms and that is what I told him here and in PM's to his questions.

As far as ranking on the First Page great.....

So......

I just wanted to bump this thread and invite you to do a google search for "computer repair sierra vista" You'll find that my site is the number one spot even with this supposed CMS handicap. I recently realized I wasn't optimizing for "computer repair sierra vista az" and I predict you'll find my site as the number one position for that search soon (I'm currently number 3)

The "CMS handicap" is just that especially for someone like the original post that is having problems with getting their site seen and maybe not the experience that you or other have with CMS solutions.

As far as number 1 on Google that is great. Let me know when you are number 1 on Yahoo also.
