Well I'm finally getting a proper website designed and I would like some feedback on the template.

I feel like its to plain. Needs some color or at least some gray. The background is white for page, paragraphs and for the buttons. It needs a lot of work.

That was my concern. Luckily it is the first draft and not the final product.

Needs more color, also the logo reminds me of google chrome, not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

After looking at one of the most popular sites in the world (http://www.google.com), I'm thinking the initial design is heading in the right direction. Things just need to be broken up with some borders around the content groups.

Any thoughts?

I completly agree with that. I am one who loves a nice, clean, effective design. Once you start cluttering the website with random text all over the place, a rainbow of colors, and ad's I think it lose's it's original focus. I would say keep on rolling, just break it up a little bit.
