I am helping my daughter launch a new hair & beauty business, which of course will include a simple web presence. However, she would like the main title "Couture Hair & Beauty" to appear gradually letter by letter until it is fully displayed.

Are there any budding Web Techs out there available to advise on the best method of approach on this task. Although I can create websites I am not up to speed on the more fancy side of the design process especially when it comes to moving items, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated, or anyone know of a simple application that would may be produce the end product that I am looking for.

Regards to all.

You can use flash for this. If you are not really familiar with flash, there is a great program called "Flash Firestarter". It's basically a drag & drop WYSIWYG type of program that is really easy to use. Grant it does not have the power for building an entire website, but it is perfect for what you are trying to do.

It does cost $49, but I think it is worth it in your situation. Plus I am sure you can use it in the future. You can check it out here: http://www.coffeecup.com/firestarter/

EDIT: It also has the option you are looking for with the letters. I used it to build a short video on my site, which you can view here: http://www.protechsupport.net. I used a variety of effects, so it should give you a good idea.

Using one of these "find a coder" sites you could probably get a guy in India to do that in Flash for about $20. I think the better question is why does she want that? It's really adding nothing of value, and will only be there to balloon up the size of the pages and add unwanted movement that steals focus from other areas. Not to mention slow down old computers or not even be viewable by people without flash. Then every time they change pages it'll do it again. How long before that gets annoying?

Edit: You people post too fast.

Go to forums.digitalpoint.com and in the "contest" section put a contest and tell everyone the name of the business and what you want. Then say whoever comes up with the best you will pay $10 or $20, that way you get more then one design to pick from.

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions - I tried the Coffee Cup Software as advised by Pro Tech support, which I am pleased to say did just what it said on the box.

Many thanks.

Glad I could help, it really is a great piece of software for a beginner in Flash. I have started to teach myself to use Adobe Flash, which is a whole other story...
