I know there's not really a way to do this but someone might know of a bypass. In XP you were able to do a in-place upgrade, but in vista & 7 you have to have access to the desktop to have it done. Does anyone know of a bypass to do a in place upgrade in order to repair the operating system WITHOUT have access to the desktop??

I know that but is there a way to do a repair install like in windows XP. Im not sure why they removed the repair install feature when you boot from the disk.

No there isn't. Repair Install is just an entry for the "remember when?" threads five years from now.

Lol I was reading one of their repair tutorials on Microsoft's website and one of the steps for a computer with booting problems was to go to the deaktop and run the upgrade.
