Vista Business machine keeps logging out in normal mode

Vista Business 64bit

Machine will boot into safe mode just fine, but cannot get into windows in normal mode. Client said she uninstalled Norton 360 and its been doing this ever since.

Basically it gets to the login screen, tries to get into windows (single administrative user), then backs out to the login screen. If you click the user it'll try to login, then say Logging Out...

Ran the norton removal tool in safe mode
chkdsk c: /f corrected errors but didn't fix
sfc /scannow in safe mode didn't detect anything
Disabled all the non-ms startup processes and services
System restore w/ vista recovery disk
HKLM/Soft/Mic/WinNT/Winlogon entry for '...userinit.exe,' looks normal and file exists in system32

Not sure what else to try. Any Ideas?

Possible bad/corrupt User profile?

What about winlogon.exe? You may want to replace that.
