Captian Obvious here... Have you tried?Do most laptops with a vga and hdmi port allow you to use dual monitors plugged in or can you typically only use one port at a time?

He means on a computer that has a HDMI and a VGA port. Wants to run one regular monitor in each port. Essentially wil become a 3 monitor system including the laptop screen.Yes I use to do dual monitor with my old Dell Latitude C840 all the time.

C840 does not seem to have a HDMI port.
