I just posted about this tool in another thread, but thought it probably warrants its own.

I recently began using a very useful tool called Mailstrom for analyzing and cleaning up my Google Apps and Gmail accounts. You can use it to analyze your mail by Sender, Subject, Time, Size, Mailing Lists, Social Networks, etc, etc. Then you can choose how to handle stuff right from the Mailstrom interface (archive, delete, move, etc). It is pretty amazing how much email you can find to get rid of when you have an easy way to slice and dice the data and help bring the junk to the surface! It works with Gmail, Google Apps, Yahoo and pretty much any email that supports IMAP.

If you are working toward "Inbox Zero," it can help motivate you too as it shows statistics about your progress to zero, how many emails you've received/removed today, etc. I've found it to be a really great tool to quickly process and remove A LOT of email from my accounts. Hope some of my fellow Technibblers find it useful too.

Oh, and it's FREE (always nice)!

This thread needs a bump because I was trying to clean out my gmail.....16gb of emails...do you have any idea how difficult it is to try to clean 16gb of emails? You expect to be able to just search on gmail site for the most popular senders and select all and delete but it stalls out if theres enough emails. I decided to search to see if there was a website dedicated to cleaning out emails and found mailstrom.co, I was able to do my inbox with just the 250,000 inbox plan after some manual cleanup and then signed up for the monthly plan at 9.95. It took about an hour or so for mailstrom to process my inbox but the deleting method handles bulk email by putting all your deletions in a queue and processing them in batches so eventually no matter how many emails you delete the delete will get processed.
