Morning everyone. I'm a long time forum browser, but I haven't posted a lot. I have a design rolling on 99designs.com for a vehicle wrap on my 2004 GMC Safari van, and I want to get your opinion on it. Our website is http://www.morandaminds.com/. We have a downtown location in Pacific Grove, CA and provide the usual services for in-shop repair work (no smart phone or tablet screen repair). We also do on-site and remote support as well. Our emphasis is residential and small-er business. We've been in business now for about 7 years and going strong.

I've seen a fair amount of critiques on the boards for vehicle wraps and lettering. Mainly I want to make sure it grabs people, but isn't too loud. I've used the colors from my logo as the main design colors. I'm on the final week of the design and I've selected and tweaked this particular design. I still have time to make adjustments on the design before I pull the trigger on the winner. Any and all critiques are welcome, really, tear it up! Oh and thank you in advance for taking a look.

*currently www.minds.one is connected to our remote support page, this will be modified soon. Not sure whether I should put www.minds.one or the full www.morandaminds.com. I've also requested that the designer adjust the blue strip on the side to end at the back right corner of the van to eliminate the blue bar on the back of the van*

Looks great, everything nice and prominant.
Is the design on both sides of the vehicle?
Easy to remember URL
Following traffic don't need to "tailgate" to see what you offer.
Nice!

Too much info. Do you really need to put printer installations. Design is cool but I would narrow the jobs you do to 3

Home/Business Networking & support
Pc/Mac repair & Training

Maybe I'm jaded, but I think the ".one" tld will throw people for a loop. Americans aren't programmed for anything but "com". It's one thing to verbally tell someone to go to a .one (or include it in an email) and another for it to register as you drive by in your van.

Of course nowadays only about 7 people in the entire U.S. actually enter domain names in the url bar. Everyone else will just type "minds" or "minds.com" as a search and click the first result. That won't help you either.

If the "Moranda" in MorandaMinds.com was the name of your town, or some other memory hook in your market, I'd go with that.

PS, I like your website and I'm thoroughly jealous of your location - it looks like a beautiful place. And right next door to the Puzzle Lady for those slow days!

This is spot on mraikes. I just purchased www.pgminds.com. Pacific Grove is the town where the business is located and ALL locals refer to it as PG instead of Pacific Grove. I think this will definitely stick much better than the clunky ".one" tld. Thank you very much for the input and thanks for the praise on the town. Its definitely a great place to own a business and raise kids.

MorandaMinds is the name of your business. I want that name stuck in peoples minds, so having morandaminds.com makes more sense to me.
The other thing I notice, is I like the concept, the colour pops, but instead of all the things you do. I would just put Total Computer Solutions for Home and Business. Most people know by the big bold computer repair what you do. The idea is to get them to call or visit your website for more information. Just my 2 cents

Good advice AML. That's the second recommendation for "less is more" on the services. Moranda is my last name and I've had a lot of people butcher it, I'm a little worried they'll get it wrong. I do own "mirandaminds.com" and "morandaminds.com" so i guess thats a good catch. Thanks for your input, I'll definitely think about it thoroughly.

I think there is too much emphasis on the name “MorandaMinds” and not enough on “Computer Repair”. If I wasn’t looking at your picture of the wrapped vehicle on a tech site it would not be immediately obvious what kind of business you had. From the back it’s maybe more readily obvious. But I think the average person on the road may not notice in time.

Also, I think the URL is confusing, especially to the non-savvy audience who is probably your target customer.

Would people in your area know what Moranda Minds means - is that the name of a locale or something?

(sorry if I'm repeating what others have said, I looked at your design then composed my response before I was influenced by the others reactions)

I like that, maybe biggest and boldest text like you've got Miranda Minds now. Then in secondary text just "MorandMinds.com".

Also, it seems like you're wasting space. You've got a great big picture on your door, then everything else is crammed onto the cab. I'd hope for a cohesive design that stretches from the front edge of your door all the way to the back.

I do like the overall design and colors of the wrap and your store now that I look at your site. The site is very well done.

One more thing: the coloring of your logo on your site and where I see it in some of your pics (like your shirt), it's not consistent with what's on the wrap.

Really good points timeshifter. I'm going to work on this over the weekend. It has crossed my mind that the most prominent verbiage should be "Computer Repair" because the company name "Moranda Minds" does not speak to a customer. I'll also see if I can fill in some of the areas on the door as well. I guess I was trying to save some money by doing a 3/4 wrap as opposed to full wrap, but I'm not sure how much I'll save. Once I have a solid design I'm going to make some calls and get pricing.

I appreciate the kudos on the website, I definitely labored over the design of it.

I'll think about the color combinations of the logo on the shirts relative to the wrap. I did have one designer integrate some black onto the van design and it just felt too dark. I'll post some design updates soon. Unfortunately I don't have the skills to drop it onto the vehicle so they will be flat images, but you guys will get the drift.

Thanks again for all your recommendations.

Really love the design and the website. I agree with the verbiage. But you are VERY close. I know this may not translate to other areas, but could you let us know what sort of pricing you are facing? This is an area that I haven't even explored because I have a feeling the cost is just so high.

I like it, i think people driving down the highway are only going to read MorandaMinds and computer repair.

I also like the pattern for the blue and orange parts :)

Thanks John Kennex, still a few tweaks to go.

Porthos, I already have business auto insurance because my employee drives the van, so I'm already paying more. (about $800/year total I think). Covers extra liability and of course any equipment that is in the van etc.

Mainstay, I haven't requested quotes yet from local sign shops, but I'm guessing it will be between $1500 and $2500 for the wrap. Its definitely an investment, but from everything I've read on the boards it pays for itself over and over. Hell I had a print advertising contract that was close to $400 a month that brought in very little. I'm happy to move to something that will work.

What are your thoughts on putting a trackable number on the van as opposed to my standard number? I use callfire.com for print advertising with a different number so I can track the ROI. I wonder if it would be strange to not have my standard number on the side though. Any thoughts?

Thanks again for the input!

I have commented before, The reason your doing this is to increase your business. Morandaminds is your business. Computer Repair is what your do. Driving down the road you want people to remember your name, few have time to write down your phone number or your web address. that's why morondaminds.com is important. Its your name. If your parked somewhere and i'm out walking the dog again no pen. yes i could put it in my phone but until i see your website and what you have to offer i'm not going to. Now its 4 cents
