It does look like a decent collection. As for it looking dodgy, thats what Kaspersky virus scan is for. As for it being warez. So is Hiren's boot CD, but its the best you can get, far better than UBC. Some of the best tools out there for fixing a PC are classified as dodgy, shady hacking tools.

not denying that it looks like a good collection or that hirens is the one of the best boot cd's out there, but i still have my doubts about using any warez in my business after getting a visit from trading standards when one of our ex clients reported us for using pirated software to repair their systems even though in the end it was proven not to be the case.

wow hope you reported him/them to the IRS for tax evasion :)

Unless you actually install pirated software on a customers system ( you would be insane to do so) it would be close to impossible to prove what you used on a boot CD.

If you stick 100% to never even coming close to using anything that might be questionable I find that hard to believe.

People that hook up a customers HDD to their system and scan it with their antivirus. Thats questionable. Same goes for using your copy of Acronis on the customers HDD, something I have seen more than one professional do.

I'm not suggesting you install anything questionable on a customers system. What I am saying is this: If it gets to the point were the jack booted ninja clad thugs are breaking in my door over a copy of Hiren's boot CD, its time for me to move to a different country.

And the porn he has of girls that just might not be 18, and the ink pens he took from his office, how about the grapes he ate while shopping, or .......

i personally use nothing on a customers machine that is dubious however i have no problem using it on my own machines which are two seperate entities anyway, because all the software we use in the office is either open source or bought and paid for business versions which is how we proved to the
jack booted ninja clad thugs
:D:D:D:D that what we are doing is all above board thats not to say that our techs are not using dodgy software out in the field but as you said no one can prove otherwise unless they are actually caught in the act so to speak,in which case we would have to deal with the problem ;);)
