Update to my website

I like the overall design; well top half more than the bottom.
The bottom half just needs a bit of tweaking, so it fits right.

And maybe change the font in the three boxes up the top under "Virus Removal" "Hardware Repair" and "Machine Running Slow?". The fonts you used seem very 'light' compared to the rest of the page.

ACRBO just needs to be moved to the right just a little bit, just to center it a bit more.

And lastly, I think that you should put your footer on one line, instead of two. Just stretch it out across the bottom :)

Good job on it though John, keep up the good work.

First - congrats on your new appointment.

Thanks for thoughts. I will work my way through them over the next couple of days.

very nice website and a vast improvement on the old one!

but to be picky...

o I'd lose the underlines on the phone number (as others have said) and also on the buttons too

o the ACRBO looks a bit lost on the page, could do with moving (as already mentioned) and maybe shrinking a little

o Services Page: DATA is all caps, and there's a funny little icon at the bottom of the list. Also, consider changing the actual service titles into links.

o Contact Page: needs a little tidying, maybe too much whitespace. Also, "our telephone answering applies from..." is a little confusing, not sure what to change it too though, maybe "telephones answered from", not sure :)

1. the font on the home page (small, in each of the feature boxes) is hard to read

2. the business synopsis on the home page belongs on an About page. You have one chance to use this space to sell services. There's nothing there compelling the visitor to contact you. Its the prime area of your site and could be put to better use. Consider putting some "calls to action" here, or something that will make the visitor want to read more about what you are offering.

3. the idea of having a services list with "more info" may work, but theres nothing actually promoting (selling) the services once they are each clicked on. Consider rewarding your visitor for making clicks by giving them something in return - neat graphics, a video, a special offer, a bargain... (a payoff of some kind). If there's a reward they are likely to keep clicking or (hopefully) contact you. If there's just a bald text description you run the risk of them getting bored and moving on. Thats lost business, which Im sure is not what you're aiming for.

4. Theres a difference between describing and selling.

describing: Tells customers what you do
selling: Gives the customers the benefits of using your service

For any google search you can assume your targets will visit a number of sites. What you might want to think about is how you can differentiate your service from those offered on the other sites they visit.

You will get a very short window of time to do this. Blocks of text describing services is one way, but its not going to be as effective as selling benefits. My main criticism of your site is that its kind of bland and unrewarding to read. The appearance is nice, quite a distinctive colour scheme, which I think works really well, but I think the weakness is that the content is a tad insipid.

Suggestions:

1. google "calls to action" - you may find this very useful
2. get http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior...ducts-2500-private-label-rights-graphics.html - the PLR graphics will help to implement 'calls to action' - the rest of the content may or may not be relevant to you but the price is only $7. I have this pack and the PLR graphics are excellent.
3. get http://www.fiverr.com/users/mrshomeschool/gigs/do-a-video-critique-of-your-website - will give more detailed 'marketing'-angle feedback than I can here. This woman is very knowledgable.

Thanks 16k_zx81.
I have started to amend the site over the weekend but unfortunately / fortunately my diary is full until the end of the week. So it'll be a couple of days before I get back to it.

That's the basic updates done and the site is live. Thanks to everyone for their input and help.

16k_zx81 - I'll will have a serious look at the wording when I get a chance.
