I have an Untangle unit currently running 16.0.1. It is not upgrading past that. When I go to the upgrade function it indicates no upgrades available.
Any ideas?

Lite subscription or paid for? Either way, have you sent the UID to support asking if they can kick it?

Is this an old install that has been around for years with lots of upgrades? Or a fairly recent install?

It is a lite setup with no subscription. This unit is my oldest install. It was installed in Oct 2017. I have another unit I installed the same month also without a subscription and it is updating just fine.

v16.0.1 was the last version to support 32bit installs. If you take a peek at your dashboard's Information tile, you'll likely see Architecture: i386, that's 32tbit... it's dead no longer supported.

Fix is to reinstall the platform, you'll want to use v16.1.0 64bit, media is here: https://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/NG_Firewall_Downloads

Reinstall with v16.1.0 DO NOT LET IT UPGRADE, restore your configuration backup, then upgrade it to current.

If you have OpenVPN installed, you should also seriously consider nuking the module and starting over, as older OpenVPN installs will grandfather in a bunch of settings that can be a giant chore to manage with modern authentication and encryption requirements.

Do ensure you use the indicated versions, a 16.0.1 backup can only restore to v16.1.0 it will NOT RESTORE to v16.1.1! You get ONE VERSION of grace for restores.

Dang I thought that was 15.something....32 bit went to 16 eh?

Yep, fresh installs ended with v14.2.2, but it would upgrade all the way to v16.0.1 where they terminated support. So if you wanted to fix this mess and keep it at 32bit for well over a year it meant all sorts of ugly upgrades and time sinks. You can see this by a distinct lack of 32bit downloads in the above link.

Probably the last 32 bit install I'd done was back...way...waaaay back, when we'd get fleets of those NG-25 appliances from ya, the early Atom D425 or 10 units maybe, that had 2 gigs of RAM. Untangle was what...probably version 10 or 11 back then (give or take).

Not even those... the only appliances we shipped 32bit on were the old NG-Minis, because they had that odd Atom CPU that was 32bit only. I've been pushing 64bit on just about every appliance pretty much the entire time Nexgen has been in operation otherwise. Though I think some of the really early 25s might have had a 32bit image... but it didn't stick around long! The 25s were D510 and D525 based, both CPUs can do AMD64 so there was no need.

Debian i386-pae is just an odd duck... does strange things. Debian's AMD64 version has been more stable for a very long time. So I never really wanted to support the 32bit Debian. It just... didn't work quite right.

It does show as i686 Architecture. I do know it is a NexGen unit. I don't know the exact model unless I can find that remotely.
CPU Type: Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU E3825 @ 1.33GHz
Memory: 1.94 GB

I don't think I ever sold a unit with that CPU in it... I'm not saying that didn't happen, but I don't recall it.

That Atom supports 64bit though, so you're a reinstall away from having it back in service in good standing.
