having as problem with a untangle install.

with untangle on the network Facebook is timing out and 99.9% of the time not loading. Facebook is fine when untangle box removed from network.

Also sofar i cant find any other website that doesn't work or show the same symptoms.

and facebook is not on banned websites list.

it not a complicated setup as only used for user web reporting
router > utangle > sbs +pcs

untangle bridged mode

DNS = sbs server.

router required as ADSL2+ modem required for internet connection.

have just found another symptom.... forums can be viewed but cant start new threads or reply (gives empty data errors)

Usually you can adjust those ISP supplied gateways to properly pass through the public IP to the WAN interface of your own router. This avoids double-NAT issues.

Try putting facebook.com in the pass list of the adblocker module. Or for a quick test just shut down/remove the adblocker module app.

email coming in fine.

all apps turned off

further info

facebook seems to work fine if accessed from the untangle box but still timingout on server & pcs

also noticed a few other https websites giving same issue

Current version of Untangle?
Try setting the DNS in Untangle to use the ISPs DNS servers
Can you define how its WAN interface it setup in relation to the ISP provided gateway?

For clarity's sake:
Can you access HTTPS Facebook?
Can you access HTTP Facebook? (obviously, this is a no)
Can you access HTTPS Google?
Can you access HTTP Google?

Untangle's EXTIF is DHCP or Static on the same network as the router/firewall?
Untangle's EXTIF is plugged into the router/firewall?
Untangle's INTIF is set to BRIDGED to Untangle's EXTIF?
Untangle's INTIF is plugged into their network switch?

Check the cable between Untangle's EXTIF and the router/firewall. Replace it with a crossover and see if that helps.

Is that really: router > utangle > switch > sbs +pcs?
Or are you using an official Untangle appliance with built-in switch?

email coming in fine.

Using OpenDNS or Google or Nortons safe DNS...you should see errors and warnings on Untangles main page, up top..about how it doens't like those servers, it will not get updates from them (so you pretty much hae no DNS updates). Set to your ISPs DNS servers, or the nearby Root servers.

All my Untangle installs are gateway mode only (so it's the only NAT device)..I don't like the bridged mode...Untangle always has the public IP(s) on my setups.

What kind of switch do you have running your network? Because the way Untangle does bridged mode...doesn't work with higher end switches due to its ARP poisoning to trick the network into thinking it's the gateway.
