Unrecognized Data Storage Device - Recovery

FYI - I just had a customer that had 1TB recovered for $1,000 by Gillware. (Spindle motor had failed.)

Those suck. I hate Seagate spindle bearing seizures. Got one here now I've been farting with for three weeks and can't seem to keep it operating for more than 5 minutes before it destabilizes and ends up killing the read/write heads. Maybe I should have just referred the client away to Gillware, lol.

Not bad, actually. A little more than we charge, assuming it was an issue requiring a platter transplant. In many cases, we are able to get the original spindle working and only charge our minor recovery rate.
