Unplug USB-C devices to update BIOS?

I was prepping 4 new workstations for a client yesterday. They were all Optiplex 5060s that have a single USB-C port on the front panel. When updating the BIOS, there was a warning message that any devices plugged into the USB-C port had to be unplugged to proceed with the update. I wasn't using the USB-C port, so it didn't cause me any problems, but it made me wonder why this would be a requirement?

I assume it's power related, but that doesn't quite make sense to me. Anyone know the actual reason for this requirement?

Good question, usb-c is capable of sending video and receiving power to some devices right? maybe they just put that feature in all the recent dell bios updates as a universal standard.

Edit: I havent used any usb-c systems yet, i dont get my hands on new hardware too often.
